About Social Exchange

The operating network where communities coordinate impact.

We believe community service is one of the most valuable things a person can do — and that it deserves to be recognized, rewarded, and made as easy as possible.

Our mission

Social Exchange exists to become the operating network where communities coordinate impact, recognize contribution, and keep support local.

Today that means connecting four groups who all want the same thing — a stronger community — but rarely interact in a structured way: the organizations that organize volunteer work, the volunteers who show up, the local businesses that want to reward community service, and the sponsors who fund it all.

The problem we're solving

Community organizations are under-resourced. Volunteer management is fragmented across spreadsheets and email. Impact is hard to measure. Sponsors have budgets for community investment but no reliable way to find or fund the right initiatives. Local businesses want to reward community members but lack the infrastructure to do it.

Meanwhile, volunteers give their time generously — often without any recognition beyond a handshake. There is no persistent record of their contributions. No portable reputation. No tangible reward.

Social Exchange is the missing infrastructure. A single network that makes all of these interactions structured, measurable, and mutually beneficial.

What we believe

Community first

Every feature we build starts with the question: does this make it easier for people to show up for each other? Technology is the tool; community is the goal.

Contribution deserves recognition

The people who give their time to their communities are doing something remarkable. Karma is our way of making that visible, verified, and recognized.

Local ecosystems matter

Recognition created in a community should stay in that community. The loop from volunteer to verified Karma to local reward to community support is intentional.

Transparency in impact

Organizations deserve to know their impact. Sponsors deserve to see where their money goes. Volunteers deserve credit for every hour they give. We make all of it visible.
